Planning Permission
Most of our garden buildings do not require planning permission, as they fall under permitted development rights (Class E). This means they are pre-approved, provided they meet certain conditions:

Height: Must not exceed 2.5m if located within 2m of a boundary.

Size: Cannot take up more than 50% of your total garden space, including any existing extensions or outbuildings.

Usage: Must not be used as living or sleeping accommodation.
If your project falls outside these guidelines, planning permission may be required. Our designers are happy to discuss your specific needs and guide you through the process.
Does My Building Require Planning?
In most cases, Building Regulations do not apply to garden rooms unless they are used for sleeping accommodation. However, there are some more variations to consider:

Under 15m² – Can be installed close to any rear boundary.

15m² to 30m² – If within 1m of a boundary, the boundary-facing walls must be built from non-combustible materials. Our boundary-facing walls meet current spread of flame regulations which allows us to build within 50mm of a boundary!

Over 30m² – Requires full Building Regulations approval.
